Gasland  available at the library
Learn about the consequences to your drinking water supply .  Gasland is a movie by Josh Fox that brings home the reality of  “fracking”,  the hydraulic fracturing process used to obtain the gas from the Marcellus Shale.  The fracking has consequences not only for those that live near it  who may suffer land & well contamination, but for all of us who live in the Delaware River Watershed.  That’s our water supply --- it is our “well”, so to speak..
You may take this CD out at your local library  Please –invite your neighbors and learn more about this serious issue.   If you’d like to work with others to do something about this,  please  contact us   info@transitioncheltenham.org

May 15, 2011 PermaBlitz - The food action team organized a garden work party at a Wyncote home on May 15th. We were amazed with how everyone worked together, so competently, to get SO much accomplished. In just a few hours, a grass lawn, as if by magic; was transformed into a wonderful garden--beautiful to the eyes, regenerative for the environment, and producing delicious nutritious food! The garden was designed by the owner and the team and was created using the no-till method of sheet mulching. We all had the benefit of sharing knowledge, ideas, work and fun! This activity was paired with a pre-event tour of a suburban edible landscape in Elkins Park. Participants were able to see permaculture principles in action and talk about regenerating healthy ecosystems in our communities.
